SLOVENIA

The Republic of Slovenia is situated in South-Central Europe at the crossroad of main European cultural and trade routes. It bordersItaly to the west, Austria to the north, Croatia to the south and southeast, and Hungary to the northeast. It covers 20,273 square kilometres (7,827 sq mi) and has a population of 2.05 million. Slovenia is member of EU and NATO together with its neighboring countries.

Hunting in Slovenia we organize in the northwestern corner, close to Austria and Italy, where are the limestone mountains known as the Julian Alps. The range was the stage of bitter fighting during WWI (with relics on the trails to prove it) and Hemmingway wrote his book, 'Farewell to Arms', while based in these mountains. They have become very popular for the exciting Alpine Chamois in what is some of the finest mountain scenery in Europe. Characterised by high mountain lakes, peaceful alpine valleys and rugged limestone peaks, the Julian Alps retain their distinctive identity and originality.

The hunt on Alpine chamois there is always a thrill and adventure to remember with pleasure. We take you high to the Alps and you’ll spend time with our guides staying in little Alpine houses and hunting around the peaks 1400-2500m above the sea level.

After the hunt there is plenty of time to soak up the beauty and history of the fairytale towns of Kobarid and Bled. We take you to local museums or to enjoy water sports or trout fishing on the Soca river. This is an exhilarating adventure that will appeal to goat hunters and adventurers. Beside Alpine chamois we have limited number of Alpine Ibex, Wild Boar, Roe and Red deer.

Last August our four Irish guests took four Alpine Chamois on first day despite rough terrain. Our grounds are rich with wildlife and well managed.
